Just a quick little update .....
Ryder is growing, growing, growing! He cracks me up everyday. He is starting to look like a little boy, which makes me really sad. I know I always say this, but he is sooo smart!! I can tell him to go find a specific toy .... he will run away and I will hear him digging through his toys, and then he will come running back with that toy. The other day he was playing with a little whale that is supposed to be a bath toy. I said, "What is that - a whale?" And then I thought maybe we should go with a more general term, so I said, "Is that a fish, Ryder?" He quickly threw the whale on the floor and ran away. I heard him scrambling through things and he came running back, to my surprise, with an actual fish toy. "Nemo," if you will. He sure showed me! He is so good at telling animals apart. I love to ask him what a cow says - he replies, "moo." And then giggles. He will also say "Baa" if I ask him what the sheep says. He has attempted the horse sound, but needs a little work on that.
Ryder is also starting to put words together. Yesterday he said, "I go buh-bye." I was caught off guard by that one, but so proud! The other night I asked him if he wanted more blueberries. He said, "More berries," while also signing "more." He is picking up on sign language really fast now! I should really spend more time teaching it to him and using it more, but I just haven't. He is so funny, sometimes he makes up his own signs. He will consistently do the same thing with his hands every time I say a specific word. For examples, bubbles. He does this silly thing with his hands every time I say it. Although, I don't actually know the sign for that, so maybe he is doing the right thing! Guess I should check on that - it's in one of his signing videos. I hear it sometimes while I am taking a shower and have him in the pack 'n' play watching a video.
I don't know if I mentioned in my last post or not, so sorry if I am repeating myself. Ryder is FINALLY starting to get his THIRD tooth - at almost 15 months old!!! You can just barely see the corner of it, but anyday now it will be here. I love his little smile with just the two bottom teeth and will definitely miss that.
I can't think of much else right now ..... Rudy is off tomorrow and I have EVERY intention of deleting some pictures off the computer so that I can FINALLY upload some new ones. And I don't care how after-the-fact it is, one of these days I will get the rest of the pictures from all our Christmas fun up here .... and then the month that followed. :) Hopefully it will be worth the wait.
