15 months old!

Today is Ryder's 15 month birthday - wow!! A quarter of his second year is already gone. I WISH I could slow time down. Actually I wish I could rewind and make him a newborn again. I LOVE this stage right now, but I MISS having a newborn. I am not ready for another though. We took Ryder to the doctor today for his check-up and he pointed out that he is no longer a baby, but a full-blown toddler. :(

Here are his current stats:

21 pounds, 8 ounces (25th percentile)
33" tall (95th percentile)
Head- 90th percentile (he has his daddy's big head!)

He is turning out to be long and lean. The doctor did say he'd like him to gain a little more weight by his next appointment because he has hardly gained in the past 6 months. He wasn't concerned, as he is perfectly healthy but said we should just try to add more fat to his diet since it is crucial for brain development. Ryder had to get 2 shots today and it was the most he has ever cried when getting them. I hate that. The past few times he hasn't even cried so it was hard to watch him get so upset. Of course we had to go shopping for a new toy to make up for it. :)

A few random pictures from December:

Check out that pouty face! He sure knows how to use that bottom lip. Not sure what he was upset about here BUT funny story: A couple weeks ago we let Ryder run around diaper-less for a few minutes. OF COURSE, he peed on the floor. A huge puddle. He looked at it for a few seconds and then came running over to us with this EXACT face and crying, like he didn't know what had happened. It was soooo funny and cute! Rudy and I couldn't help but just laugh. I would really love to know what he was thinking.

He rolled off the dog bed ..... and then just laid there.

Little Boy, checking to make sure he's ok.

Still laying there.

Serious face.

Winterhaven: Festival of Lights

As promised, here are some more pictures from Christmas time. Winterhaven is a longtime Tucson tradition. It's this beautiful neighborhood that puts on a festival of Christmas lights. Not everyone participates, but most do. They run hayrides through it, there are nights where you can drive through and you can also walk through. I like walking because you can stop and look at things for as long as you like. The hayrides are fun too, but a little pricey. Walking is free. :) We were so excited to take Ryder! Rudy and I hadn't been for the past couple of years. It seemed like the last time we went it just wasn't what it used to be - a lot of people didn't participate and the houses just weren't as exciting. We were pleasantly surprised this year that it was awesome! I couldn't believe how many houses went completely all out. We had a really great time and look forward to taking Ryder for many years. We didn't get a ton of pictures because our memory card only had a little space. Here are a few though.

Ryder, not sure what to do with his mittens and Daddy about to see some lights!

This house was awesome! You can't really tell what's going on from this picture, but the 3 following pictures are close-ups of the different sections. People are so creative!

I liked this rainforest-themed one.

This house was UH-MAZING! They had a whole light & water show set to music in their yard. Words can't describe it. I could have gotten a camping chair and parked myself in front of it all night.

Disney Princesses w/ their Princes :)

I don't know why a lot of the pictures came out blurry and weird. I wish I could have taken a lot more because there were just so many neat houses!

A couple more randoms:

Hehe, he looks like a just-hatched baby bird with his hair here!
