Trip to Wisconsin

The last weekend of September, my parents, sister, and the 3 of us traveled to Wisconsin for my cousin Matthew's wedding. It was fun to go to a new place, although it was a quick weekend trip so we hardly got to do anything. It was a really pretty state though and maybe someday we'll get a chance to go back! Here are some pictures from our trip.....

On our way! Ryder sitting with grandma and grandpa for a little bit. He did really great on all of our flights!

All dressed and ready for the wedding. "You can take my picture, but I WON'T smile!"

"Ok, one smile!! But you better be quick!" He looked sooo handsome!

After the ceremony

Our little Matthew is all grown up and married!

At the reception. He'll lay on the floor to drive his cars anywhere. ANYWHERE.

Having a very intense conversation with cousin Vaughn. They get to hang out again this weekend!

Favorite picture of the trip! He was laying in the middle of the floor being super weird and I snapped this just at the right time - my little dancer!

And of course he loved the attention he was getting.

You're a little too young buddy. And you will never be allowed to smoke, regardless of your age!

The Butler cousins that were there

Sweet little grandma with her 4 kids - Aunt Linda, my dad, Aunt Mickie & Uncle Kevin

Cousin Matthew with his beautiful bride, Maria. Her dress was gorgeous!

He was non-stop allll night and loved every second of it. He looks tired here but it was just a few minutes of re-fueling. He was SO mad when we left the reception and headed back to the hotel!

Sunday we went to the zoo even though it was cold and rainy.

Stuck under a bridge during a downpour! Someone is loving the rain!

Luckily, I had thrown some ponchos into our bag and they sure came in handy! We really didn't get too wet, mainly just our feet. Most of the exhibits are indoors and we just had to walk from building to building.

Giraffes are pretty amazing animals. They are just so pretty and graceful. This one was beautiful! I have never seen one so white before!

Kangaroo with a baby in her pouch!

Gorgeous trees ... so that's what fall is supposed to look like!

It's hard to see, but there is a tiny baby on this little monkey's back - so cute!

I really liked the big cat exhibits. Because they were inside, they were right up close.

Of course we managed to keep Ryder completely dry at the zoo and then as soon as we got back to the hotel and out of the car, he fell into a puddle and got his whole back side soaked!

That little boy sure can manage to hog an entire king bed to himself. This bed was sooo comfortable and for the first time in a loooong time, I woke up with no back pain. We are in the market for a new bed.

We had a blast and are so glad we were able to go! Now that we are recovered, we're off for another adventure. Ryder and I are heading to Illinois to the farm for about 2 weeks on Thursday and then Rudy will join us next Tuesday. Looking forward to spending more time with the family and relaxing on the farm (as if there is such a thing as "relaxing" with a toddler involved)!
