Oh, say it isn't so!?!? How is it possible that Ryder will be 2 in just one month!? I just can't believe how fast 2 years has flown by. And I am waaay behind on the birthday party planning. I feel awful about it. We're going to keep it pretty low-key and casual this year. Well, we're having 2 parties actually. One with my fam/friends and one with Rudy's family. But both will he pretty chill. I've got TONS of stuff to do before we leave Thursday, but back to Ryder being 23 months!
He is a very funny little boy. Says the most hilarious things! I really need to keep a journal just of things he says because I always forget what he had me laughing so hard about just a few hours earlier. And he is waaay too smart for his own good. I swear, by the time he goes to preschool he is going to he bored because he will already know everything they will teach him there. He can count to 40 by himself. Knows the alphabet start to finish. Is obsessed with colors and has to point out the color of everything. He knows lots of shapes and apparently I need to refresh my memory on them because we were pulling the pieces out of his shape sorter and there were some that I couldn't remember.
Ryder sings and it is hilarious. I think the only real song he sings is Happy Birthday. "Haaaap Birday, Haaap Birday to you." He will turn any regular words into a song and it is so funny. One of those things I really need to get a video of.
I started using training toothpaste with Ryder tonight and was trying to teach him how to spit in the sink and he just thought it was hilarious! He would laugh sooo hard every time I spit. We'll have to keep working on that one.
***UPDATE: So once again I blew it. I started this the day I wanted to post it, but then didn't get it finished before we left town. Ryder's birthday is next week and his party is tomorrow ..... but this is better later than never, right?*******
I swear the closer Ryder gets to being 2, the more he acts like a "2-yr old." He sure knows how to push my buttons! But all in all, he is a wonderful little boy and he is always entertaining us.
No new teeth recently, he still has just 12. He is still wearing a size 6 shoe and I think he'll be in them for awhile, unless he has a huge growth spurth. I am very curious to see how much he has grown in the last 6 months because I don't feel like he has grown much at all - but I know it's normal for their growth to have slowed by now. He is still incredibly picky when it comes to eating and I just keep hoping this is a phase that he will grow out of - sooner than later!
Let's just get to the pictures already .....
First time finger painting
I think he had more fun mixing the paints on the plate
A masterpiece
He was not too happy about his hands being so "dirty," so he was done pretty quickly.
He's rather just play with cars. Maybe someday he'll enjoy crafts.
Sometimes, he'll pose and say "cheeeese," letting me snap a few pictures. It doesn't happen very often, but it's super cute when it does.
I have so much to catch up on .... TONS of pictures from our trip to the farm, plus the Pumpkin Patch & Halloween. And after tomorrow, Ryder's birthday party. I have been sick for 3 weeks. I literally have not been sick for 4 YEARS. Not a single cold or It started with allergies while we were on the farm (the WORST allergies I think I have ever had), but even since we have been back I have still been pretty miserable. I don't know if it turned into a cold at some point, but it's really wearing me down!! Went to the doctor today and he hardly said 2 words to me ... looked at his computer the whole time and then gave me a prescription for antibiotics and cough syrup. Hate that. So anyway, I'm just doing my best to get thru the days in one piece at this point and haven't had much energy to do much of anything. I was hoping to feel better for Ryder's party tomorrow but it's not looking good. I'll get through it though.
