Can you believe I am writing again tonight? I am really trying to be better. :) If you asked me how day was today, my response would be: "BLAAAHHH." I would like a re-do please. It started on the wrong foot and then I was bummed out for the rest of the day. I would go into detail, but it would be boring and pointless. In my somber mood, I decided to take a quick trip to Kohl's for their one day sale. Bad idea. I came home and told Rudy not to let me go shopping again when I am in that kind of mood. My Kohl's card took a hit. The rest of the day was basically a waste. It is toooo freaking hot outside. It's gonna be 110 tomorrow. YUCK. I think it will be a day spent cleaning.
We had another successful day of cloth diapering. Except, when I went to Kohl's, Ryder was napping so Rudy stayed home with him. He woke up while I was gone and when I got home I asked Rudy if he had changed him. He said he hadn't because he didn't know how to change the cloth .... I guess he decided it was better to leave him in a wet diaper than to put him in a disposable? So I had to show him the ropes. It's soooo easy! The cover can be re-used if they don't get poop on them. You just un-snap the insert and snap another one in. I usually alternate between 2 covers because the inside gets a tad damp if he pees a lot. We are also using these paper thin liners on top on the cotton that are supposed to catch his poop - and they are flush-able! You just take it out and throw it in the toilet - no poop spraying required. It's a great idea, but they haven't worked too great so far. His poop has been more watery lately (I am sure you wanted to know that!), so some of it soaks through. I desperately need to get a wet bag/pail liner to throw the dirty dipes in though! I got a small one for the diaper bag, but am trying to find the best deal on a big one for home.
Tonight, I was determined not to let this day be a complete waste, so I did something I have been trying to get around to for weeks! I made homemade baby food! I started with peas, because it seemed like the easiest. And it was SUPER easy! Ryder finally got excited over a solid food too. He was opening his mouth and waiting for more and would giggle with excitement when the spoon would come toward him. He has never done this before! I can't wait to make more stuff. Hopefully I will get into a good groove and make it part of my regular routine.
Well, I am off to finish some laundry and watch some Gilmore Girls. A friend loaned me all seven seasons .... and even though I have seen every episode numerous times, I still get excited. It's the only thing I miss about cable.
