HOT

It is ridiculously hot outside. I feel like I have been running errands for 3 days straight and I can't stand the heat. I want summer to be over already. Every year, I tell myself we will not still be in Tucson by the next summer because I just can't take it anymore! Let's hope this is the year that my dream actually comes true. :) We are not "actively" looking to move, but it's something Rudy and I have always wanted to do. I know there would be things we would miss about Tucson, but we would always have the option of coming back. I just really want to experience living in a different climate. Oregon or Washington seem like the perfect place for us. I love rain! People say I would get sick of it ... but I am not so sure.

Anyway, Ryder is a full on crawler now! He is wearing me out! He is into everything. Climbing on shelves, trying to eat every electrical cord he can find .... keeping me on my toes, that's for sure. Tonight he tried his first fruit - apples! We have yet to find something that really gets him excited. He just kind of takes his solids with half interest. Sometimes I feel like I am force-feeding him. He also tried oatmeal this week and that turned him into a pooping machine! He went from 2-3 times a week to 2-3 times a day! Of course, just in time to start our cloth diapering adventure. I finally got them all prepped and ready for use. He had a little of a rash before I put the first one on him because he had pooped this morning without Rudy knowing, so he sat in it for awhile. I put him in the cloth for a couple of hours, changed him once and so far, so good. We are definitely not ready to go overnight yet so he is sleeping in a disposable and hopefully tomorrow his little bum will be better so we can get a fresh start in the cloth. That way I will be able to tell if it gives him a rash or not. I can see this cloth diapering becoming an addiction (there are so many different brands and styles I want to try), because they are all so cute! That could keep us from actually saving money which is half the reason for doing it, but I will do my best to have self control. :) I am a pretty darn good bargain shopper, at least. I hate to pay full price for anything!

I was sooooo proud of Ryder on Monday at his class! They always set up a little "obstacle course" and there is one of those long crinkly tunnels for them to crawl through. He is the only one that has done it so far! The age range is 6-12 months, so he is on the younger end of the spectrum. All of the other babies are too scared to even attempt going in it and my little dare-devil went right in, hung out inside for a little while, and with a little enticing on my part, came right out the other end! Rudy came and watched so he got some pictures I will try and post soon.

Well I am going to try something new - going to bed early. I have got to stop staying up so late and get some more sleep. I have had a sore throat since Monday and I really think if I just get some rest it will go away. Just wanted to give a quick update! Have a great weekend!
