I am always glad to see the weekend end. I just don't like them. I might be the only person who feels that way, but there is nothing too exciting about typical weekend. Rudy always has to work. There is absolutely nothing on tv - we only get a few channels, but even when we had cable there was never anything on. I never understood why there are no good shows on the weekend!? I would think more people are watching tv those days. Shopping is a drag because the stores are way too crowded. I am definitely happy and thankful that I get to spend them with my little man, of course. Just wish Rudy could be home too.
He has the next 2 days off though! His days off are always my favorite days and they always go too fast. We are a little spoiled this week because he had Wednesday & Thursday off last week so he only had to go to work for 3 days. I wish he could always work 3 day weeks! But then we would be poor. I am SO thankful that we are able to survive off of his income alone. Some days are definitely lonely with no adult interaction or conversation ... and others are exhausting chasing Ryder around and dealing with his grumpy moments, but when it comes down to it I wouldn't change a thing and I won't go back to work unless I absolutely HAVE to. I am praying that I will always get to stay home with Ryder and with all of our future babies too. :)
We got some great news on Friday! We have been hoping and praying for this news. A huge financial burden has been lifted and I am SO relieved. I feel like a ton of bricks was lifted off my shoulders. It's such a good feeling to get rid of a big stressor.
Ryder continues to do new things everyday! He crawls pretty fast now and I haven't seen him resort to the army crawl in awhile. He just loves to explore and get into EVERYTHING. He has also figured out how to pull himself up to standing. That boy is so strong! Once he gets the balance thing figured out, he will be walking! Scary thought. I had to remind Rudy tonight that he has to be very careful about leaving things laying around. This afternoon, I pulled back the curtains in front of the sliding door to find a huge KNIFE-machete type thing propped against the wall!!! Ryder had been playing right there a few hours earlier ... and I had no idea it was there. I think there might have been steam coming out my ears when I discovered it. He was lucky that I had a few hours to get over it before he got home. :) I know he is still learning and I am not perfect, but REALLY?! Thankfully, Ryder was not harmed and never even discovered it.
I am super excited because we found a ton of toys on Craigs List that we are going to pick up tomorrow and for a great price! Brand new toys are soo expensive, especially when you consider how quickly babies lose interest in them. I am happy to buy things used when they are in good condition and can be cleaned.
I made more homemade baby food yesterday! Organic apples and sweet potatoes. They were delicious! Good enough for me to eat. I can't wait to make more stuff. It's a little time-consuming, but soooo worth it. I am excited to start experimenting with new recipes and flavors. We have started giving him little pieces of bread too. He mostly just plays with them, but if we put it in his mouth he chews it a little and eventually swallows it.
Well that's about all .... we have a busy day tomorrow and I have a few things to do before bed. Have a great week everyone!
