I can't believe that we have already been married for a year! I have spent the whole weekend reminiscing what we were doing on this same weekend last year. It was such a great time and I just can't believe how fast the first year has flown by. We debated a lot about what to do to celebrate this year and we decided against getting a hotel room. The only thing that would have been different about staying somewhere else is that we would have spent the day hanging by the pool but right now I don't have a bathing suit that I like and I pretty much hate the sun. So we stayed home last night.
I made omelets and banana bread for breakfast (made the bread last night though) and then we hung around the house for a little while before we headed out to a local plant nursery. We bought some different flowers and put them in pots in the front yard ... it was in desperate need of some life. We still want to do lot more but it's a nice start and at least now we have some color out there. It was as fun project for us .... now we are just hoping we can keep them alive! Neither one of us has ever been good with plants so it will take some effort ... we'll see. After that we cleaned up and watched the video of our wedding - so much fun! Then we went out to dinner at a really nice italian restaurant called Bazil's. It was DELICIOUS!! We hadn't been there in years and forgot how much food you get! We started off with friend zucchini (one of my all-time favorite apps), and then he ordered Fettucini Alfredo and I got Chicken Parmesan .... dinner entrees come with a delicious antipasto salad AND soup ... and of course bread. By the time our entrees came we were stuffed! So we have a few days worth of lunch. My dinner also came with spaghetti and marinara! They seated us in their fun private booth ... it's literally closed in with just an opening for the server and you have your own light dimmer so that you can decide how bright or dim you want the lights to be. It's very romantic! That's actually one of the reasons I wanted to go there and I was so happy they sat us in that booth without us even asking. We rolled out the door and are now happy to be in our PJ's, still extremely full. Regardless of how full we are, soon we will indulge ourselves in a delicious ice cream cake form baskin robbins - mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate cake - my fav combo! We still have the top tier of our wedding cake ... however; it has been in my parents refrigerator for the past year - it never made it into a freezer so I can't imagine that would taste very good, and I am not sure if it would even be safe to eat, so I am perfectly happy with ice cream cake. In fact I think we will do that now. I do have some pictures to post, but you know how it goes .... as soon as I get around to uploading them I will post them .... hopefully in the next couple of days. Have a great week!
