Our turtle is doing better! We have been putting eye drops in his eyes and they are improving everyday. They are almost back to normal. His activity level and eating are back to normal too. We are so relieved. I am glad that we decided to wait on going to the vet until we tried over the counter stuff. That would have been an expensive trip to the vet and a waste of money. We will continue to monitor hi to make sure that he makes a full recovery.
Our weekend has been jam packed. Yesterday we cleaned all day! After sleeping in a little, of course. I love Fridays mornings. It's the only day I get to sleep in. That's my favorite way to waste a couple of hours. But once we got going we got a lot of cleaning done and it felt so good. It's nice when we are both here to do it all together and get it done quicker.
We do not know if we had any trick or treaters or not. I was kind of excited to hand out candy, after we had no kids show up. We left a little after 6 though ... I didn't leave candy outside, mostly because I was afraid my bowl would get stolen. We went to Rudy's cousins house for a party that she has every year. This year we took some of the kids out trick or treating. Our little 6 year old nephew Elijah was so funny, he did not want to dress up. So he went trick or treating in his regular clothes and just put one arm inside his shirt and called himself a one-armed man. We told him to tell people he didn't have a costume because the DOW dropped 800 points. It was pretty funny. We took out Rudy's 1 yr old cousin and it was so cute because Rudy was carrying him house to house and taking him up to the doors with his candy bag. It was kind like a flash into the future. It was cute to see. After trick or treating, we left to go to my work party. This guy Brandon and his girlfriend threw it and they went all out! The decorations were pretty amazing. It was a fun time. I just recycled my monkey costumes that I have worn like 3 Halloweens already. But I have never worn it around these people. It as better than spending money on a new costume! Somehow we ended up being at the party later than I had planned ... go figure.
We went to bed pretty late but still got up early this morning and we decided to go out to breakfast. We have a Jerry Bob's real close and still had not been there since we moved in, so we decided it was time. It was ok, but they put waaaaay too many onions on my omelet. It was like eating an onion with a little bit of egg and cheese. When we got home from breakfast we decided to tackle our garage cleaning project. We got stuff moved around and better organized. We are going to have another yard sale next Saturday and then donate the leftovers. I can't wait to have it all be gone. It will free up quite a bit of space and we want to make half of the garage our "game area" for the pool table, foosball table and futon. We are also going to put in some more shelving to make the best use of our storage space. Can't wait to have all of this stuff done!
We have done a ton of cleaning again today ..... besides the garage, I shampooed the carpet and Rudy cleaned the backyard. We also went to Ace Hardware and Target. We needed some things for a few projects that we are working on right now - getting the doggie door installed with plenty of security and sanding down our asian furniture. We spent way too much money at Target, as usual. I decided to splurge and buy some Halloween decorations since they were on clearance. I got a light up halloween town display, a welcome rug, a blanket, a throw pillow and 2 mugs. It will be exciting next year when we get the halloween decorations out to have some new stuff! We didn't even get all of ours up this year. I was totally regretting it yesterday. I have literally been cleaning alll day and I am about to drop. I have cleaned out closets and the laundry room, washed the filter for the vaccuum cleaner (disgusting) and I just keep finding more and more things to do. I have to stop though, I am so exhausted. We are going to eat dinner and then I am going to fold laundry and go to bed.
Back to work tomorrow. Boo. But at least I can't spend any money while I am at work. We have spent far too much this weekend! Have a good week everyone! Here are some pictures from our weekend .....
