I am so frustrated!!!! I just finished a long post and added about 15 photos when my internet unexpectedly quit and none of it was saved!!!!! I hate computers!
Well here are the cliff notes of the post ....
Wednesday evening after Rudy and I got off of work we drove up to Phoenix for the Coldplay concert. I was completely bummed about the long drive and not excited to go at all. We left the house at 5:30 and the concert started at 7:30. Even with the HORRIBLE rush hour/holiday weekend traffic, complete with multiple accidents ... we still managed to make it up there in 2.5 hours, only missing the first opening act (sleeping cars?). The second opening act was a DJ just mixing stuff and he was awesome, wish I would have caught his name. Coldplay came on and gave an awesome show! I like their music, but am not a die-hard fan. After seeing them live I like them a little more. It truly was a really great show! Rudy's parents bought us tickets for Christmas and we were supposed to go with his sister Melissa and her husband Johnny. he couldn't make it, so his sister Keila went instead. Rudy's younger brother and sister also went but they had much better seats than us. After another long drive we got home at 2am.
Thanksgiving was the next day of course and we were super tired, but were able to sleep in a little but. We went to Rudy's house at about noon and ate at about 1 (it has always worked out that his family eats early and my family later, so we get a nice stretch in between to digest). We left his parents around 3 to stop by good friends of my family, Janet & Dale's. I used to go to the house every year but haven't been the past few. Dale was recently diagnosed with cancer and is pretty sick, but decided he wanted to try and have normal Thanksgiving. It was pretty hard to see him so sick, but I am glad we went because I had not seen them in awhile. I praying that he will be able to pull through this. It is really a shame that he was not diagnosed sooner. He was sick for quite awhile before any doctor could figure out what was wrong with him. We stayed there for about an hour. Then we came home to let the dogs out and headed over to the Prendergasts house. We ate there at about 7. It was delicious as always, but I didn't eat as much as I had planned on! For some reason I was too full for seconds this year. Bummer.
I had to go to work the next day and I was sooo tired all day! I came home after work and was asleep by 5:30. Woke up for a little while around 9 and then went back to bed alter and slept till 11 today!! I was super tired and it felt good to catch up on some much needed rest! I had to go to the mall today to pay my Dillard's bill. Normally you will not find me anywhere near a mall on this particular weekend, and today I was reminded why. I hate all the crazy, greedy Christmas shoppers, and their kids too! Ok, I don't hate them, but they are super annoying. I was at the mall for no more than 20 minutes and it probably took me that long to find a parking spot! UGH! I had a coupon for a free anti-bacterial soap from bath and body works though, which is my favorite so I took advantage of that opportunity. After that I also had to go to Target, which was another nightmare. It was quick trip though and I was able to pick up a Christmas gift for my sister while I was there. After that it was the grocery store, gas station and finally home. I am finishing up laundry and then heading to bed.
Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. We didn't take the camera to the concert because it said no cameras on the ticket, but it turned out we were the only people there without one. Oh well.
