We had such a blast with Matt & Maria while they were here! It was a busy week and we are still trying to recover and get back to our normal schedule. Sure wish we could see them (and all of my family) more often!
Here are some highlights from the week:
Monday: We drove up to Phoenix to meet them for a spring training baseball game, since Maria's team (the Brewer's) is up there. The weather was beautiful and we had a good time at the game. Rudy, the boys and I also stopped at Ikea - we didn't have nearly enough time in there, I could spend all day - it was a long day for the boys. Especially since Ryder woke up with a cold. We drove back from Phoenix and all went out to dinner at Oregano's. We got home WAY after bedtime and after not really napping, the boys were WIPED OUT.
Using the zoom on the camera, we caught Ryder messing with the garbage cans (of course!) while my dad was messing with his cell phone.
Hoping to catch a foul ball - no such luck
Tuesday: Rudy and my sister had to work, but the rest of us went down to Tombstone for a little wild west action. I really don't know if I've ever been down there, believe it or not. It's a neat place and I think it will be fun to take the boys down there when they are a little older. Matt & Maria saw a gun show but I didn't think either of the littles would like it too much, so we just walked around for awhile. We all went out to eat and then my mom, the boys & I took a ride in the stage coach. That was pretty neat, as we went all around the town and got a great history lesson.

Ryder loved it!
Can't remember whose house this is, but how would you like to live on a street called Toughnut? :)
Wednesday: My dad & Matt played golf, my mom & Maria went shopping and I stayed home with the boys so they could get in naps since we were exhausted from the previous 2 days. That night, everyone came over to our house for pizza and a few rounds of Apples to Apples. No pictures, but fun was had!
Thursday: Bentley caught Ryder's cold and we had a ROUGH night Wednesday night (he kept waking up and eventually couldn't sleep at all, until I sat in the chair with him all night and let him sleep on me. I finally went to bed at 5am and slept for a couple of hours). Matt & Maria went back up to Phoenix for another baseball game, while we had another day of rest and dealt with poor little Bentley being a little under the weather. That night, my mom came over and babysat - thankfully Bentley went to sleep and stayed asleep without a problem - and my sister, Rudy and I took them out. We went to 2 very different places and had a great time.
This would be the first time we've been out kid-free since Bentley was born ....(at the Cow Pony)
At The Maverick
Friday: We went to Sabino Canyon. It's one of Tucson's gems and I think it's a must-visit place for out of towners. The weather was amazing and there was a lot of water running, since we've had so much rain/snow in the past few weeks (it runs off of Mt. Lemmon). We rode the tram all the way to the top and then walked down for awhile before riding the tram out. It was a nice time and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. Afterward, we were all FAMISHED so we went out for some delicious mexican food.
On the tram, ready to go!

Ryder LOVED Maria (or "Marita" as he calls her)! I think she's his first crush. :) When we were eating in Tombstone, he kept demanding that Matt get out of his chair and we couldn't figure out why, until he finally grabbed a chair and tried to squeeze it between Matt & Maria because he wanted to sit next to her. Apparently Matt has some competition!
Super dad!
Heart-shaped cactus
Ryder jumped from person to person, making sure everyone carried him at some point :)
And then it was time to say goodbye and Saturday morning they started their journey back to Iowa. We really enjoyed having them here and were sad to see them go. Hope to see them again soon (as well as the rest of the fam!)
