February Recap

I'm not really sure what happened to the month of February.  Seems like it's a blur every year.  Some highlights from the month:

-Valentine's Day!  For the first time in years, Rudy's day off fell on Valentine's day and it was really nice to spend the day as a family.  We don't really celebrate the  holiday between Rudy and I - I think it's a silly holiday and is more of a "dating" holiday (or I like to call it a teenage holiday) but I do want it to be a special day for the boys.  Side story:  When I was explaining it to Ryder, I told him we'd be saying 'I love you' to each other all day and his response was, "Ohhh that sounds horrible."  Funny boy.  Anyway, I think it's fun to make it a special day for the boys and this year was perfect.  The week of, I did daily projects with Ryder.

(not pictured - cookie making!!)

And the day of, we had a special chocolate chip pancake breakfast (it's our go-to "special" breakfast), played at the park for awhile and then went to Peter Piper Pizza for lunch - they have a great buffet!  It was mine and Rudy's TENTH Valentine's day together and we spent our very first one together at Peter Piper Pizza too, so it was fun to be there all these years later with our little family.  It was really nice to just spend the day together and have a good time.

I bought cards for the boys and got one for Rudy too, kind of feeling bad because I knew he wasn't expecting it and didn't want him to feel bad for not getting me one too.  To my surprise, he made the best "card" ever!   I was surprised and incredibly impressed!  I absolutely love it~

(Both boys' hands and feet)

-It snowed!!  Like real snow that stuck to the ground and everything.  And it came down on and off all day. We took Ryder to his eye appointment (for a second opinion) that day and it was snowing up until we left but we weren't able to go out and "play" since we were trying to get out of the house.  I was amazed when it started sticking and piling up!  By the time we got back from his appointment it had melted, but later more came down.  We got Ryder out of bed at 9:30 (he was still awake playing in his  bed) and took him out to play in it for a short time because.....well it will probably be years before it snows like that again!  He had a blast and to our surprise we still had a bunch the next morning and got to play in it for a few hours before the sun came out and melted it away.  I think that's my kind of snow really.  It was beautiful to watch it coming down, fun while it lasted and then it was gone and we had wonderful memories of it.  No shoveling, not stuck indoors for days on end and we were only freezing for a short time. :)
When it started sticking - we got pretty excited!!

 Late night snow party

 The next day....

I took Bentley out for about 5 minutes and it was too cold so as soon as he went down for his morning nap, Ryder and I went back out there.

Ryder felt it was shovel-worthy and got right to work.

As it quickly melted away, we built a baby snowman

Just a few hours later ...

-I got a job!  My sister in law does real estate and she asked if I could be her assistant.  I get to work from home (with occasional trips to her office) and it's all done on the computer.  It's really perfect and I'm very excited! I'm doing a lot of different things and am still learning the ins and outs of everything but so far it's going smoothly and I am really thankful for this opportunity.  I am also doing marketing stuff for her because she just doesn't have the time with everything else she has going on.  So hopefully with the marketing I'm doing, she'll be able to sell even more houses.  It's also kinda neat that I'm learning the ropes of real estate because it may be something I want to do once the kiddos are in school.

-We finally got a new computer!  A Macbook Pro (once you go mac, you never go back). LOVE it! We've been talking about it for a long time and now that I need a reliable computer for "work," we finally decided it was time. Maybe I will even get to blog more often. Maybe.

-My cousin Matt and his wife Maria have been visiting from Iowa this week and we've been having a great time! (separate post coming soon)

-Bentley is 9 months!!  I'll do a separate post on that too.  Seriously, the fact that I can blog from bed now is promising. :)

Here's a few more random photos:

He's such a happy boy these days

Playing garbage man with his buddy, Froggy.  Froggy always sits in the green chair, obviously.

 Always together, these two

Word to the wise: You probably shouldn't leave to get groceries if the sky looks like this.  Especially if you don't own an umbrella and have small children with you.  Just sayin'.
