This is the kind of day we're having .....

This boy is pushing every button today. I am exhausted. Karina and I had scrapbook night last night so I was up late and didn't get enough sleep. Ryder was up at 5:15. He usually wakes up between 6:30 and 7. No idea why he got up early, but he did and he was screaming. I guess it was a sign of the day to come. One of his favorite things to do lately is climb onto the dining table. All my scrapbook stuff is up there right now and he just can't refrain himself from getting into it. He knows he's going to get in trouble and go in time out, but he doesn't care. He just keeps doing it. The first time this morning, I told him not to do it or he would go in time out. He marched right over to the time out corner and sat down. I told him he didn't have to be in time out (yet) so he got up and went right back over to the table.

This age is fun for so many reasons - he learns/knows so much and says the funniest things - but the tantrums are insane. I ignore them, but it is still draining. He throws a fit over EVERYTHING. He is just lucky he is so darn cute!! And he's even cute when he cries.

The good news is, nap time is just around the corner! I can't decide if I will take a nap or a shower .... maybe both, we'll see. I am soooo ready for this crazy heat to end (I know we still have awhile left) so that we can spend time outside! I know Ryder is getting so bored in this house and that's part of why he continues to things he knows he isn't supposed to do. If we can just get through the next month, we'll be good. Then we're off to Wisconsin for my cousin's wedding, back to the heat for a couple weeks and then we head to Illinois for a couple weeks and I know it will be such a nice change of weather. And by the time we get back, it will hopefully have simmered down here and we get to do our favorite "fall" activities! Ahh, I am in a better mood just thinking about the things to come.
