What a busy weekend we have had! I did some Christmas shopping with my sister Friday night and got home really late. I still have a few more gifts to buy, but I am getting close to being done. Yesterday morning Karina came over and we took all the kiddos to the park. It was hot! Sure doesn't feel like December. I hope we will get another wave of cold just in time for Christmas, otherwise Ryder and I won't able to wear our planned outfits.
On the way home from the park Ryder fell asleep in the stroller. I tried to move him to his crib when we got home since it was nap time, but he threw a fit. I probably should have let him cry himself back to sleep, but since he hadn't had lunch, I let him get up. Apparently he thought the 10 minutes of sleep in the stroller counted as his nap because he refused to go back to sleep for the rest of the day. We headed over to my parent's house to hang out and had dinner over there.
The Canyon Ranch Fitness Department's Christmas party was last night so I decided to go for a little bit after Rudy got home from work. It was really good to see many of my former co-workers and I have to admit I do miss my job quite a bit. Not that I'd trade my job now, but I wish there was a way I could have the best of both worlds. :) In order for me to return to my job there I'd have to work 3 full days and I do not want to miss that much time with Ryder. He will only be little once and I don't want to look back and have regrets about not spending enough time with him. I did put a bug in the ear of many that if they would let me work just a couple half days I'd be back in a heartbeat. It was nice to hear that I am missed and many people telling me they need me back. I truly do miss teaching!
Anyway, Ryder took a nice long nap today and when he got up we had to do a couple of errands. He did some really funny things today. I have pictures, but they will be in a future post. Yesterday's new word was "duck" when we were looking at ducks and today he said "milk" (he usually signs that one). He was also moooing like a cow today and it was sooo cute! This is the kind of stuff that I would hate to miss out on if I spent a lot of time away from him. I like being the one to watch him learn and discover things for the first time.
Here are some sort of old pictures ......
These were about a month ago:
His little sheriff outfit with his cowboy boots. I wanted to make sure I got some pics of this! And he struck a couple cute poses for me.
His first real mohawk! (Outside of the bath tub, anyway)
Love that mohawk!
Working on his coordination ....
Yummy! I can feed myself!
Forget the spoon!
Wearing rings on his feet, like shoes. Funny boy! Can you see the bruise on his cheek? He hit it on the corner of the coffee table. :(
Eh, the blue one was too much work.
