I am worn out! Ryder decided to wake up at 4am and have a party. He did NOT want to go back to bed! Rudy was up with him for 45 minutes and then I spent another 45 minutes trying to nurse him back to sleep and he was just wide awake. I finally took him into our bed and he laid there awake, but not moving for awhile and finally he went back to sleep. I hardly ever take him in our bed. I do not want him to expect it or make a habit of it. I have a hard enough time sleeping as it is, and with him in there I just won't get any sleep.

Yesterday Ryder did something very unusual - he took a 2 HOUR nap! That's the longest nap he has taken ... ever. Except for in the first few weeks where he slept all the time. It was great, but I didn't get anything done because I kept expecting him to wake up. He typically only naps for 20-30 minutes at a time. Sometimes his morning nap is 45 minutes to an hour. I wish he did the 2 hour thing every day! I was hoping for a repeat today, but no such luck. He did take 3 short ones today though, so I can't complain too much.

That boy is just wearing me out! He is a crawling champ - climbing over, under, inside of anything that he can. He cracks me up! He is just so curious and the littlest things make him laugh so hard. He thinks the strings that pull the blinds up are hilarious! The past 2 nights while we were eating dinner, he was in his exersaucer and got his hands on the string. He was just cracking up over it! I am not sure what he thought was so funny, but Rudy and I got a kick out of it. He really enjoys sitting in front of the glass door, looking into the backyard. Pulling the dvd's off the shelf and turning on the playstation to hear the "beep" are some of his other favorite pastimes.

I took Ryder to Baby Storytime at the library on Wednesday. I have been meaning to go for awhile, but always forget. I remembered at the last minute and Ryder woke up from a nap just in time to go. It was quite chaotic, but Ryder seemed to enjoy all the people and babies. We sang some songs, the lady read some books (not a single baby was paying attention, of course) and at the end they got out a bubble machine. Ryder was definitely into that!

I pureed some carrots for Ryder tonight and he seemed to like them, but he never minded the store bought ones either. He still just isn't into solid food that much. He refused to eat his first meal today. I have been putting little pieces of bread on his high chair tray and at first he would just play with them or throw them on the floor, but now he is starting to put them in his mouth and chew on them. He tried avocado the other day and I think he may have been a little allergic, just like Rudy and I. It seemed like his mouth got a little swollen and he acted like it was irritated. We'll have to skip that for awhile.

Well, I have been sitting at the table for over an hour trying to do some scrap-booking and it wasn't going well, so I thought I'd update ... gonna try and get a page going before I go to bed. Probably not going to get far.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!
