(This is the best, recent picture I could find on my phone .... most are blurry because he never stops moving or they are of him throwing a fit - I send those to Rudy while he's at work because he seems to think we just lay around and snuggle all day) :)
Wow! Where has the time gone? I can't believe Ryder is 17 months today, just 1 month away from the year and a half mark!
Here's Ryder in a nutshell ....
Favorite foods: FRUIT (any kind, but especially bananas and berries) and also yogurt ("go-gurt")
Favorite activity: playing outside!
Favorite toys: cars, anything from the kitchen, and his little wagon that he pulls around.
His vocabulary has really expanded lately. He knows and can identify/say lots of colors - red ("re"), blue ("boo"), green ("gee"), yellow ("wallow"), orange ("ora"), purple (said perfectly!), pink, brown, white and black. He also knows lots of different animals and can either say or sign them. He has gotten really good at feeding himself with a spoon/fork, although lots of times the food falls off just before reaching his mouth. He can also drink from a regular cup by himself, but can't be trusted with one because sometimes he thinks it's more fun to dump it over his head. :) He loves to play in the dirt, but freaks out if he steps on a wet floor with bare feet (like when I am cleaning).
We have started his "Little Movers & Shakers" class again, after taking a break for the winter months, AKA flu season (which by the way we made it through the whole season without a single cold or flu in this house - woohoo)! It's good to be back in class, but he is quite the crazy little man. I am not sure which one of us leaves there more exhausted. The first week we tried out a different facility and it was awful so I switched him back to the one we have always gone to before and it is so much better. He's not the only wild man in class! In fact, there is a little boy that is even crazier than mine - Ryder can run really fast, but I think this kid might be faster than him. Maybe.
I am not sure how we will survive the hot months ahead, without going stir crazy. It's just too hot to go anywhere and do anything outside but Ryder isn't going to handle that well. I am hoping to get him in swim lessons since he loves to be in the water!
Umm, I know there was more I wanted to write about him ..... but I am tired and can't think right now, so I'll have to end here.
