We had a busy weekend and it wore both Ryder & me out! Friday morning Karina and I did a little photo shoot at the park with the kiddos. Neither of the babies were having it. Ryder was ready for a nap, but luckily he didn't get fussy. Just wouldn't smile for me! After that we went to Target (for the 3rd or 4th time that week!) Then we went to visit my dad before he left town for a few weeks. I was so proud that Ryder really hung in there and was a little worried that we would have tears of tiredness all the way home, but to my surprise, not a peep! He went to sleep as soon as he got in his seat and slept for over an hour. He has been doing soooo much better in the car and I think the car seat is one of his favorite places to nap now. While he napped in his car seat, I was able to get a grocery list made and then we hit the store after he woke up. We were exhausted after that! He did so great all day though.

Saturday we went to a friend's little boy's first birthday party. It was a pool party and I was super excited to dip the little man in the pool for the first time, but sad that Rudy had to miss it because of work. I don't have a suit so I just put him on the first step and he LOVED it!! When he was standing he was stomping his little feet and when he was sitting he was splashing like crazy with his arms and legs. I can't wait to take him again and I am going to have to get a suit so I can get all the way in with him. We will make sure daddy is there for that. We do have a baby pool that we will set up when it gets a little hotter and it's not windy. After the party, we made yet another trip to Target (had to return something and get a rain check) and then headed home. It was another great day and Ryder was able to nap while we were out and about.

Sunday I had plans with some of my girl friends and unfortunately we had to cancel, but it worked out because I was totally exhausted and I think Ryder was too. Hopefully we can get together soon though! Girl time is always needed. :)

Yesterday was Rudy's only day off this week and we didn't do a whole lot. Ran some errands (can you believe we ended up at Target AGAIN!?!?!) and just hung out around the house for the most part.

After a few weeks of being more quiet and observant, Ryder has become quite the little chatterbox again! His favorite sound is "ma." Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma .... all day long. Mixed with screams, squeals and a few other sounds. He is so funny to listen to! Rudy is still holding out hope that Dada will be his first real word, but I am thinking mama it is! I don't know if it really counts yet, but sometimes he looks at me as if he knows what he is saying. :) This is a very fun age! Some days he wears me out, but I just love him to pieces! I have moments of thinking "hmm, it would be easier to be at work" but I wouldn't trade being home with him for anything! I wouldn't want someone else seeing him do things for the first time and being with his cute little self all day long. He is mine and that's my job. I feel very blessed that I am able to stay home.

Here are pictures from the last few days ....

Our little photo shoot at the park ...

Combination of brightness/tiredness ....

He is finally getting some more hair! I really don't know what color it is ... it looks really light most of the time and then sometimes it has a reddish tint.

I refuse to smile ....

Exhausted after the park, shopping & visiting grandpa!

Napping before hitting the pool

First pool experience, yay!

I love swimming!

Taking a break from the sun

CAUGHT!

Oh, hey mom!

He totally rolled himself right off. I couldn't catch him, but luckily it was very smooth and he didn't hit his head or anything. Just laid there, stunned, for a moment.

He always wants to pound on the computer keyboard, so I got out my old one for him to play with. Pound on boy!

With daddy (he has since cut his hair .... THANKFULLY)
